Training for other professionals

“The training was eye opening for GP trainees and knowing the availability of this service (FiG) will help me a lot while I work as a GP  and to signpost my patients.” Attendee

Our bereavement support training aims to equip professionals with the key skills and confidence to support any grieving child or young person in your care.

To date, we have delivered training sessions to 204 trainee teachers, GPS and Teaching Assistants as well as sessions for a total of 86 GPs, Children’s Mental Health Professionals, Bereavement Team Support Workers (NDDH) and Children’s Hospice South-West Family and Sibling Support team.

Our approach

Our aim is to create a shared community response based upon our training and delivery of bereavement programmes. The content of each of our training sessions is tailored to meet your specific professional needs.

  • Educational/information sessions: taking the form of a one hour ‘Lunch and Learn’, this session will provide a useful overview of our work, the key issues and the referral process. We can offer this free of charge.
  • Bereavement support training: Families in Grief is now an approved delivery centre for NOCN qualifications. We are able to provide bespoke accredited half-day training for staff to equip them with the required skills and strategies to deal with bereavement in their specific professional setting. Fees available upon request.  Do get in touch if you would like to know more and we will be pleased to talk through your requirements.

If you would like to know more about how our training could be of benefit to you and others in your organisation, please do get in touch by calling 01271 447960 or email [email protected].
