Family Support Officer (part-time)

Are you able to connect with young people and families and help them to move forward with their grief? We are looking for a Part-time Family Support Officer to join our small and friendly team!

You will need to be empathic, flexible in your approach and enjoy working with a range of people, including professionals.

In an exciting development, this role will also involve providing bereavement support training to organisations – so there is plenty of scope for growth.

Hours per week: 25 hours Mon-Thurs.

Salary: NJC SCP 19 £27,852 pro-rata.

Start date: Sept 2023.

Location: Hybrid – home/community based and FiG office.

Job Purpose

To respond to all referrals and requests for FiG bereavement support and to provide timely support, advice and information to families and professionals.

To connect with referred families and whenever possible, provide appropriate interventions within the resources of the charity or signpost to other services.

To coordinate all FiG bereavement support, including telephone and on-line support, home visits, school visits and the preparation, running and evaluation of FiG’s support sessions for children, young people and their families.
