Barnstaple Round Table Fireworks event in conjunction with Barnstaple Rugby Club took place on Sunday 5th November with nearly 6,000 spectators in attendance. The event was raising money for Children’s Hospice South West and Families in Grief, two local and worthy charities supporting and helping people within our community.
Barnstaple Round table Chairman, Jack Shortridge, “After the huge success of last year’s event we were amazed with the help and support we got this year. The weather was certainly against many firework events this year but luckily we had a dry weather window to show off the display from the Two Tigers Fireworks Display team.”
The two charities which the proceeds from this year’s event will go to are Children’s Hospice South West which helps and supports local families with sick children with life limiting conditions. The other charity is Families in Grief which is a developing charity helping families who have lost a loved one whether through illness or sudden loss in providing support, care, and focus.
Jack goes onto say “I would like to thank the support of Barnstaple Rugby Club, The Voice, Devon Live, The North Devon Journal, Two Tigers Firework display team, The Gazette, Storage Space Pottington, Westend Engineering, Bideford, B&R Water Engineering and the many marshals and bucket collectors in making this event such a successful community event benefiting the people of North Devon. My biggest thanks goes to all the Barnstaple Roundtable members who give up their time and work extremely hard to work as a team and put these great events on.”
Both Children’s Hospice South West and Families in Grief will receive £3,000 each from the event.
